Proudly Serving Los Angeles And The Surrounding Areas

Clean windows are more than just a mark of a well-maintained property; they enhance the aesthetic appeal, allow in more natural light, and contribute to a positive mindset by bringing clarity to people’s views. Traditionally, window cleaning has involved ladders, scaffolding, and labor-intensive methods, but advancements in technology have revolutionized the way we maintain our windows. One such innovation is the waterfed pole window cleaning system, a method that intersects a safe, efficient, and eco-friendly technology.

Water-fed pole window cleaning utilizes telescopic poles and purified water to achieve spotless, streak-free windows without the need for harsh chemicals or risky access methods. Water-fed poles are gaining popularity with both residential and commercial properties, offering a superior alternative to conventional cleaning methods. In this article, we will explore how water-fed pole window cleaning works, its benefits, and what you need to know when hiring a contractor that uses water-fed poles for window cleaning.

Water-Fed Pole Window Cleaning Applications:

Water-fed pole window cleaning is a versatile method that can be applied to a wide range of properties. Its ability to clean high and hard-to-reach windows efficiently and safely make it an ideal choice for residential and commercial properties.

  • Houses
  • Apartment Units
  • Storefronts & Offices
  • Residential Complexes
  • Office Buildings
  • Retail Centers

How It Works?

The process begins with water that is purified through a carbon, reverse osmosis, and deionization filter, removing mineral deposits that can leave streaks. This DI water is then pumped up through a hose tethered to a series of telescopic pole sections clamped together.  At the top of the pole is an angle adapter or goosehead that connects to a brush, which is used to scrub the window surface. The combination of the brush’s gentle scrubbing motion and the DI water’s ability to absorb and remove dirt ensures a thorough and streak-free clean.

The telescopic poles, made from lightweight materials like carbon, can extend to reach windows several stories high, allowing window cleaners to remain on the ground. As the brush head scrubs the window, the DI water rinses away dirt and debris, leaving behind a spotless surface. Because no chemicals are used, the method is environmentally friendly and safe for the surrounding landscaping. The result is clean, sparkling windows achieved quickly and efficiently, with minimal risk to the environment.

What Are The Benefits?

One of the primary advantages of water-fed pole window cleaning is the enhanced safety it provides. Traditional window cleaning methods often require the use of ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms, which can pose significant risks to window cleaners. In contrast, water-fed poles allow window cleaners to work from the ground, significantly reducing the risk of falls and accidents. This makes the method particularly suitable for mid-level buildings and hard-to-reach windows.

Water-fed pole systems enable cleaners to complete jobs more quickly and efficiently. The telescopic poles can easily reach high windows without the need for time-consuming setup and takedown of ladders or scaffolding. Additionally, the pure water used in the process eliminates the need for chemical detergents, simplifying the cleaning process.

Eco friendly:

Using deionized water instead of chemical cleaning agents makes water-fed pole window cleaning an environmentally friendly option. The deionized water effectively removes dirt and grime without leaving behind harmful residues, making it safe for surrounding plants and landscaping. Furthermore, the reduction in chemical use contributes to a lower environmental footprint, aligning with green and sustainable practices.

Limitations with using Water-fed Poles?

One limitation is the effectiveness in removing extremely stubborn stains or heavy grime. In cases where windows have not been cleaned for an extended period or are exposed to significant pollution or hard water deposits, the DI water and brush system may not be sufficient to achieve a completely clean surface. In such situations, additional cleaning methods or chemical agents might be necessary to achieve the desired results.

Another limitation is the reach of the telescopic poles. Although these poles can extend up to 50 feet high, there needs to be ample space below to extend the poles at a 3:1 ratio. If 4th floor windows need to be cleaned that are 45 feet above ground, the window cleaner needs to be positioned 15 feet away from the building. A 3:1 ratio of vertical to horizontal space is needed to effectively clean windows using water-fed poles. Other challenges that can get in the way include trees, railings, ledges, overhangs, recessed windows greater than 2 feet, and power lines.

Tips for Property Managers, Homeowners and Business Owners:

Before the cleaning service arrives, ensure that all windows are closed and screens are removed from the inside. Opened windows can not be cleaned. If screens are left on the windows will be cleaned through the screens. Removed screens should be left outside the unit for the crew to pickup and clean individually.

Routine window cleaning can also enhance the effectiveness of using water-fed poles, so consider scheduling service at appropriate intervals. Additionally, it’s important to choose a reputable and experienced cleaning service that uses purified water to ensure the best results.
