Types of Banners:
Large format banners are typically made of vinyl or mesh fabric. Both allow for vibrant colors and detailed graphics when put through a large format printer. Vinyl and fabric are easy to transport and install. They have grommets on each corner/side for mounting and installation. Vinyl banners can be wiped down for cleaning, whereas fabric is washed.
Although vinyl tends to be a less expensive and more durable option. Fabric is more eco-friendly, lighter, and easier to transport. The transparency of fabric allows light to provide an illumination effect. Vinyl is opaque.
RayAccess does not handle printing or banner production, but we are uniquely qualified to do any type of high access installation, changeout, or removal.
Safety First:
High rise banner installation requires a competent team dedicated to safety and fall protection. Mounting a 30’ x 40’ sign while stranded high in the air is dangerous. Protocols need to be put in place to assure the safety of the crew, building occupants, and general public below.
During installation, sidewalks below are roped off to protect from anything that may become loose and fall. All access equipment must be inspected by competent personnel. RayAccess employs certified industrial rope access technicians that have special training with anchors and ropes.
Industrial rope access is a fall-arrest positioning system in accordance with SPRAT and IRATA standards. All certified technicians are tested and trained to inspect equipment and implement a detailed safety planning analysis prior to each job. If the project is accessible using aerial lifts or swing stages, these methods can be used instead of rope access. RayAccess technicians have high access expertise using the complete spectrum of access equipment.
Installation Process:
Every banner installation request starts with a client RFP and job walk. A RayAccess estimator will visit the building and confirm the scope of work. We document anchor points, potential hazards, and important notes. Our estimator will then furnish a proposal with recommended access method, deliverables, and cost of project.
If the proposal is accepted and signed, we can schedule it. Banners are sent to our storage facility:
RayAccess, Inc. 13431 Beach Ave Unit A Marina del Rey, CA 90292
Unless heavy winds delay the project, banner installation is typically completed in one day. Our team is tasked to level the banner, remove any wrinkles, and secure it to the wall. Proof of installation photos are sent and the client is invoiced.
