Proudly Serving Los Angeles, Orange County, and Surrounding Areas
RayAccess provides cost-effective services for amusement ride inspections throughout the state of California and beyond. Our industrial rope access technicians and certified drone pilots help protect the integrity and operation of the ride. As the preferred LA-based high access services company, RayAccess reduces inspection costs while maintaining the daily operation of theme park rides. There is no need to dismantle rides for maintenance and inspection with our rope access techniques.
Amusement park owners’ number one priority to families, kids, and the general public is safety. We help amusement park operators, professional engineers, and qualified safety inspectors perform safety inspections in compliance with Cal Osha.
Amusement park rides handle extreme forces during daily operation which lead to structural fatigue. Weather and stress-related defects can cause corrosion, cracking, timber splitting, and misalignment. We help engineers access difficult-to-reach areas and confined spaces. Contact RayAccess if you need assistance with amusement ride safety inspections.
Specific components we inspect: wire ropes, bolts, fasteners and connectors, axles, bogies, pivots, lap bar parts, and car chassis, tracks & rails, structural supports, wooden frames, structural steel, concrete, grouting, etc.
Types of Attractions We Inspect and Service Area:
Conveniently located in Los Angeles, RayAccess proudly serves the Southern California region. Whether you operate a traveling carnival with temporary amusement rides or permanent amusement rides and roller coasters in a major theme park, RayAccess certified Rope Access technicians are ready for your call.
Theme parks:
Theme park inspections of roller coasters and amusement rides that require visual inspections completed at great heights.
Water Parks:
Water park inspections of water slides that are supported by columns and steel frames can have cracked joints or surface deformations.
Tramways:
Tramway inspections of ski lifts and aerial tramways are necessary for the maintenance and permitting to operate passenger tramways.
Zoos & Animal Parks:
Animal Park inspections often have roller coasters, gondolas, and drop towers that also require visual inspections at great heights.
Roller Coasters:
Roller coaster inspections by one of our certified rope access technicians perform visual inspections to look for any potential issues.
Ziplines:
Zipline inspections of commercial zip lines are subject to the same regulations as amusement rides. Inspections of zip lines and trees used as anchors must meet the same integrity requirements as a constructed platform.
Amusement Park Regulations:
Amusement Park rides are regulated by state and local government, insurance companies, and private safety firms. In addition, Amusement park standards are set by an international committee called ASTM F24.
ASTM:
Formed in 1978, ASTM meets twice per year to publish the Annual Book of ASTM Standards [1]. ASTM F24 is composed of consumer advocates, government officials, amusement park operators, ride manufacturers, and industry suppliers.
If regulations in specific states need to be revised, IAAPA encourages such action and recommends using the detailed ASTM International ride safety standards as the basis of any regulations. ASTM standards require amusement park operators and manufacturers to report both ride related defects and incidents.
Routine Inspections:
Amusement park staff follow manufacturer guidelines and use outside companies to re-inspect rides. These inspections are routine ranging from daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly intervals.
Visual Inspection Access Methods:
Drone Inspections:
For the initial first look, drone inspections are the fastest way to capture a close-up visual of the components of a particular ride’s condition. RayAccess Inc. is equipped for aerial drone inspection requests and employs FAA licensed pilots to operate UAVs.
Rope Access Inspections:
Rather than erecting temporary scaffolding, or renting hydraulic boom lifts that can be disruptive to theme park guests, rope access inspections are a much more efficient and cost-effective to search for defects.
Rope Access does not use any heavy equipment thus amusement ride inspections can be done quickly. For theme park operators this means less downtime of your attractions and more revenue.
Rope Access has an exemplary safety record, a must for the amusement park industry. Rope Access has governing bodies that certify technicians and enforce strict protocols in industrial rope access best practices. RayAccess employs level 3 rope access technicians certified by IRATA/SPRAT.
Thermal Image Inspections:
Thermal imaging can be used to detect potential problems including corrosion, water intrusion, and sealant issues. Tethered with infrared cameras, rope access technicians or advanced drones detect conditions that can be damaging to theme park rides and attractions.
Rope Access Assistance for NDT Inspections:
We provide Rope Access assistance for NDT inspection and engineering companies. Our certified technicians work under engineer guidance and gather inspection data from areas where Industrial Rope Access is required.
To check the structural soundness of a roller coaster or other amusement park attraction, composite crews including RayAccess and Engineering firms work as a team. RayAccess industrial rope access technicians along with non-destructive testing engineers perform safety inspections of theme park rides.
Amusement Ride Inspection Cost:
Just like any request, an amusement ride inspection proposal depends on the scope of work. Whether our operations manager visits the park or the operator or engineer provides us with the specifications, a thorough understanding of the inspection is needed. We are happy to provide rates by the hour or an estimate with pricing based on the project.
